Meal planning offline

Updated 2026-09-11

Works offline

  • Viewing any week in your plannable range (8 weeks back to 8 weeks forward). Opening Meal Plan once while online downloads the entire window in one go, not just the week you're looking at — so after that, every week you can navigate to is available offline, not only ones you'd individually visited.
  • Adding a recipe to one or more days, on any week — including ones that haven't downloaded yet. These queue and upload when you're back online — you'll see "You're offline — planned recipes will sync when you reconnect" and a sync notice.

"This week hasn't been downloaded yet"

You'll see this if you go offline before ever opening Meal Plan while online (so nothing has downloaded), and land on a week with no cached data. The week just shows empty rather than your actual plan — but adding meals still works and queues normally. Connect once and revisit to pull everything down.

Needs a connection

Assigning a cook, updating servings, "Suggest recipes for this week", removing a meal, clearing a week, and the meal pool (suggesting / removing suggestions). Trying these offline shows "This action requires a connection."

If added meals seem stuck, see My changes aren't syncing.

  • Why can't I remove a planned meal offline?
  • Do I need to visit every week to make it work offline?
