Combining ingredients

When ingredients land on your list, ReciLore groups the ones that are the same ingredient and adds up the amounts — so "2 cloves garlic" from one recipe and "1 clove garlic" from another become a single 3 cloves garlic line.

When items don't merge

They stay separate if:

• The units differ — "200 g flour" and "1 cup flour" can't be added together, so they're listed separately.
• ReciLore isn't confident the two are the same ingredient — it won't guess. See How ReciLore matches ingredients.

You can still check both off, and you can set a single purchase quantity on a line — see Checking items off & quantities.

Not the same as pantry coverage

A recipe asking for "extra virgin olive oil" when your staple is "olive oil" doesn't get merged into a combined quantity line — instead, if you've flagged Olive Oil as a pantry staple, it's simply left off the buy list entirely (moved to Check your pantry).
