A YouTube recipe isn't working

Updated 2026-09-02

When you import from a YouTube video, ReciLore reads the video description and follows any recipe links it finds there. It does not transcribe the video itself.

"We could not read that YouTube video"

This means the description had no recipe text and no working recipe link — common for shorts, vlogs, and videos where the recipe is only spoken aloud or shown on-screen.

What to do

  • Check the description or a pinned comment for a link to the full recipe, open that page in Web Import, and import from there.
  • Otherwise, copy the recipe from wherever the creator posted it and use Quick Paste — see Pasting recipe text.

Questions this answers

  • Why can't ReciLore import this YouTube recipe?
  • "We could not read that YouTube video" — what does that mean?
