The Free recipe limit
Updated 2026-09-02
On the Free plan, a household can hold 10 active recipes at a time. Try to save an 11th and you'll see "Free recipe limit reached."
What counts
- All recipes count the same — imported, YouTube, or written by hand.
- The count is shared across the whole household, not per person.
- Recipes in the Trash don't count. Deleting a recipe frees a slot immediately.
Getting past it
- Delete a recipe you no longer need (it goes to Trash for 30 days — see Deleting a recipe and the 30-day Trash).
- Upgrade to ReciLore Full — this removes the recipe-count cap. Only the household owner can upgrade; members see a prompt to ask the owner. See Free vs ReciLore Full.
Restoring from Trash near the limit
Restoring a recipe re-checks the limit. If your household is already at 10, restoring an 11th fails until you free a slot — see Restoring a recipe from Trash.
